Search Terminology
Geographic Marketing
Using Geographic Specific Title Tags and Geographic Specific text
within the body of your web pages can help your pages be found in locally
oriented web searches. By naming the Title Tag of a page with the
name of the city you are concentrating on reaching, searches made with
that city name in the search term will have a much greater chance of
locating your page over other pages without the city name specified. The
same principle applies the body text as well. Strong geographic
targeting can significantly help you get found within localized searches.
You can also use geographic specific terms within the text links within
your website to increase their geographical relevancy as well.
Keyword Density
Improving the keyword density on your website is one way to increase
your site's visibility in some search engine results pages. Keywords
are words that web searchers input into search boxes on search sites when
searching for specific information.
Keyword density is the ratio of the word that is being searched for verses
the total number of words appearing on a given web page. If your keyword
occurs only once or twice in a page of 500 or more words, it has a lower
keyword density than a keyword that would occur three or more times in a
page of similar length.
