Resizing Using
Microsoft's Free "Paint" Program

To access the
program:
Go to Programs:
Then go to Accessories:
Then select "Paint"
To load an image
from disk to edit and/or to resize:
Click on File, then click
Open and then locate the file to open on your hard drive
To
resize the selected image:
Click on Image, then click
on Stretch/Skew and then in the Stretch and Skew dialog box type in the
percent you want the Horizontal and Vertical measurements to be reduced
to. For example, setting the Stretch parameters of a 500 wide by 500
tall image to, for example: Horizontal at 50% and Vertical at 50%, this
would reduce the image down to 250 wide by 250 tall. There is no
need to adjust the Skew percentages or degrees.
To confirm the new size has been set:
The new size may be seen by clicking on Image and then clicking
Attributes. The new measurements will be shown here.
Save the work:
Click File and then Save As and then save with a new file name if you
want to preserve the original image. |
